Client documents are stored in Apple iCloud Drive with Advanced Data Protection enabled. The content of protected documents is end-to-end encrypted, and Apple does not hold the keys to decrypt it — an additional layer of protection for document confidentiality.
End-to-end encryption protects the content of protected documents even in the event of a cloud infrastructure data breach. It does not replace protection of devices and account access.
iCloud is covered by Apple’s international certifications:
These certifications apply to Apple’s services and are not certifications of GERTEL. The encryption described applies to the content of protected documents stored in iCloud; some metadata is not end-to-end encrypted. The way documents are shared may affect their protection, and not all sharing options support end-to-end encryption.
